CLIENT - Major global CEM (contract electronics manufacturer) providing design, manufacturing, repair, and logistics services to companies in the industrial, computer, networking, communications, consumer, and medical industries.
With a network of global manufacturing facilities, delivers low cost, high volume manufacturing and repair service solutions for PCBs, mechanicals,semiconductors, and optical components.
For years, has helped OEMs maximize time to market objectives while minimizing procurement, materials management, and manufacturing costs.
ROLE - Regional VP of Manufacturing Operations, reporting to Global President of Industrial Business unit - to take responsibility for customer satisfaction, operational KPIs (quality, cost, delivery) and to be accountable for the P&L of the industrial products sector across European manufacturing sites.
• Driving and supporting site management teams towards "best in class" practises - empowered accountability, and continuous improvement mind set;
• Create cohesive co-operation among sites supporting industrial sector/clients, focused on key business metrics, and "continuous improvement through teams";
• Establish and manage towards "best in class" performance metrics - quality, delivery, and cost - as well as supporting new product/process introduction goals;
• Participates in customer/business/site Profit and Loss (P&L) analysis, to give advice/ideas on improvement initiatives;
• Directs and coordinates activities of different factories to ensure client/sector programs progress on schedule and within prescribed budget. Drives corrective actions as required;
• Provide dynamic hands-on leadership to extended team to ensure a consistent application of standards, values, and improvement tools;
• Support different clients at sites by ensuring their operation can accept visitors at any time. And be prepared to act as host for important customer visit.
PERSON - Higher weighting more important
10 - Operating at VP level in a multi-site leadership role - and with 5+ years site management experience - in high volume/mix electronics manufacturing - ideally mechanicals, SMT and product assembly/test
10 - Personality - dynamic, assertive, influential, resilient, communicative, accountable, standards-setter, customer advocate
10 - Strong leader (vision, values, standards, ethos), manager (processes, KPIs/metrics, processes, drumbeat), and coach (delegate, support, exception manage)

10 - Fluent English a must with other European languages a real advantage
9 - Demonstrable track record in driving "best in class" performance through application of a variety of continuous improvement tools, for example KPIs, 6 Sigma, Black belt, Lean manufacturing
9 - Previous P&L responsibility
9 - Multinational/multicultural experience - understanding mixed cultures and working environments and being able to communicate/interface effectively
9 - Previous CEM sector experience, with strong global business sense, cost reduction, productivity improvement, quality mgt specific in high volume technology/industrial products
9 - Customer mindset - relationships, listening, responsive, innovative, proactive
9 - Degree qualified in Engineering and ideally MBA
8 - PC literate - MS Office
8 - Ideally experience of US multinationals
