• Oversee the effective implementation of controls to ensure that financial crime risks are identified and managed effectively to protect customers and the Group.
• Responsible for carrying out threat monitoring by analysing MI and making recommendations to the Financial Crime Intelligence Manager for change to support the continuous protection of the Group and customers.
• Lead your team who are responsible for making appropriate recommendations for change by carrying out risks assessments in line with defined scheduled reviews and on a proactive basis, ensuring that the Group remains within stated risk appetite whilst balancing the customer/colleague experience.
• Lead and develop your team who are responsible for liaison with the Financial Crime leadership team to provide expert guidance on industry best practise in terms of managing all financial crime risks
• Oversee the monitor system rules configuration and make recommendations to the Financial Crime Intelligence Manager for development ensuring that any changes follow the defined governance framework.
• Responsible for using all available intelligence make appropriate recommendations for changes to either the Financial Crime Policy or processes and procedures to ensure that the Group is protected from risk and is providing an industry leading defence against financial crime
• To keep up to date and facilitate the review of the Group’s risk based approach for AML
• Responsible for maintaining appropriate contacts in the industry to ensure that threats are highlighted at the earliest opportunity and best practice can be identified
• Ensure that you and your team act as a SME throughout the Group, highlighting current and potential future threats, ensuring that business areas remain responsible for creating appropriate financial crime controls and that these are adhered to
• Lead and develop all financial crime MI, including regulatory reporting requirements, ensuring that the MI is accurate and delivered within defined timescales.
• Responsible for the review key controls, policies and procedures relating to financial crime to ensure appropriateness, effectiveness and accuracy of documentation, making recommendations for change to the Financial Crime Intelligence Manager
