We are currently seeking a results focused, outgoing individual to join our dedicated team in Milton Keynes as an Account Assistant.

Your main role as an Accounts Assistant will be to manage the accounts payable function and assist the Finance Manager in the production of management accounts and annual statutory reporting.

This is an excellent opportunity to utilise your accounting knowledge and excel skills within a supportive and engaging financial environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Responsibility for all aspects of the accounts payable function including:

* Logging purchase invoices and obtaining appropriate authorisation
* Posting invoices into the accounting system
* Checking and approving payment runs
* Monthly accruals and prepayments
* Maintaining the fixed asset register
* Assisting in finance projects

Assist the Finance Manager in:

* Analysis of profit and loss accounts and variance analysis
* General ledger postings/reconciliation including inter-company transactions
* Provision of support for the month end and year end reporting process as directed
* Downloading bank information and bank reconciliations
* Providing information to auditors as required
* Assistance with budgets and forecasts
* Cover for sales ledger area and banking area as required

Cover for the Finance Manager as required including:

* Posting of entries in the system to establish the liability (and expense) in the relevant entities
* Intercompany reconciliation
* VAT reporting
* Cash flow forecasting and cash management
* Ad hoc analysis as required
* Contribute to the development of new business processes, procedures and initiatives
* Discharge any other duties as may be required from time to time

Essential Criteria:

* At least two years’ experience in an accounts environment.
* AAT qualified or part qualified accountant
* Advanced excel skills to include pivot tables, VLOOKUP’s etc
