Community Development/Social Value Manager

I am recruiting for a Community Development/Social Value Manager for a top 100 construction company. The role will be based in Merton, South-West London and will be responsible for delivering community engagement initiatives.

Responsibilities:
 Work with the Community Investment and Regeneration Delivery Groups to ensure the Social
Value Plan aligns with community aspiration
 Provide robust measurement against the Community Investment Activity report
 Manage the investment budget, providing business cases for proposed improvements
 Coordinate training, work experience and employment opportunities across all partners
 Liaise with stakeholders regarding any improvement to the facilities serving the estate
 Liaise with local colleges to maximise opportunities for residents
 Use our position of visiting/ working with every resident to promote estate facilities as well as
promoting any Moat key messages and initiatives to ensure a joined-up approach
 Act as a catalyst for coordinating key partners for the duration of the works & beyond
 Track funding pots, making and supporting applications to relevant bodies to secure tangible
Estate improvements, working at all times with appropriate local stakeholders
 Administer funding body performance returns to ensure full monies are achieved
 Source, support and facilitate training for volunteers as a route to work and fulfilment
 Look at the barriers to inclusion and employment and provide mitigating measures
 Work with trust to extend community centre usage/ income for reinvestment into
additional resources, services or facility improvements
 Work with trust and stakeholders to extend usage & income from the Youth
Centre for reinvestment in the facility and the longevity of the [youth] service

Key Skills, Knowledge, and Experience:
 Minimum three years’ experience managing and delivering community or regeneration
projects with a training, skills and employability bias
 Excellent communication skills
 Excellent negotiation and influencing skills
 Good at developing relationships
 Good team player
 Excellent problem-solving skills
 Able to manage workload and respond to deadlines
 Able to work remotely
 Good IT skills
 Good budget management and reporting skills
 Good level of maths and English skills

Desirable
 Good experience working in partnership with local authorities, colleges, education providers or housing providers
 Experience of line managing staff
 Understanding of apprenticeship delivery
