what information we collect from you and how we use it.
We use the information collected about you to enhance your experience
when visiting the site and for our marketing purposes. We are
registered with the Data Protection Act.
General:
We may use your email address to notify you of other career related
information or products which might be of interest to you. This may be
in the form of a newsletter which you subscribe to. We may also use the
information we collect to occasionally notify you about important
functionality changes to the Web site, new group services and special
offers we think you'll find valuable. If you would rather not receive
this information, you may opt out by un-subscribing to the mailing at
any time. We also monitor customer traffic patterns and site usage to
help us develop the design and layout of the site.
What Information do we collect?
Information you volunteer:
There are areas within the site where you are invited to enter your
name, email address and other personal information. These are:
- When you subscribe to our newsletter so we can email you the newsletter.
- When you enter a contest or other promotional feature so we can administer the contest, and notify winners.
- When you add your CV to the site so you can use your CV to apply
for positions and to be searched by recruitment and HR professionals.
Registering your CV and Jobs by Email:
If you choose to register your CV you must be aware that the
information you supply about yourself will be, due to the very nature
of the site, viewed by third parties. We will take every effort to
ensure that your information is viewed by bonafide recruitment
organisations or employers who may be interested in your services
(including recruiters, HR professionals, headhunters etc) but we are
not responsible if someone posing as one of the aforementioned gains
access to the database. You must be aware that recruiters who pay for
our CV database product will have access to personal details that you
supply.
Your CV may also be viewed by other divisions of the group if it is
thought their recruitment or career management services will be of
benefit to you.
You may remove your CV at any time, but recruiters who have paid to
access this service may have downloaded a copy of your CV to their
records and hold a copy in their files or databases. We are not
responsible for the retention, use, or privacy in these cases. You are
responsible for the content displayed on your CV. When you send us your
CV for registration and any other information about you we will take
this as confirmation from you that it is accurate and not misleading.
This is important, as third parties will be relying on it.
You can remove your CV from being viewed at anytime.
If you do not wish us to use your personal information for direct
marketing purposes please unsubscribe. Please note we do not presently
use third parties to store or process information supplied by you to
us. We will let you know if this changes and we will take guarantees
from any such third parties as to the security of your personal
information.
Submitting your CV and other information to us for registration is
agreement from you that we may transfer that information outside the EU
and in particular to the USA (if we believe this is appropriate). You
should be aware that such countries may not have data protection
safeguards in place equivalent to those in the UK.
